While content is the base of optimizing your website, incoming links breath life into a website and are the catalyst for moving up in the rankings.  If you want to promote your website and focus on SEO, you will have to obtain links to your website from quality and relevant partners.  To do it right will take some time, and if you have an employee who can help with this, start to get them involved immediately.  This is the type of job that they can do for 30 minutes each day, or as much as a full time job depending on your website.
